DMX, Juice WRLD, Alanis Morissette Get Spotlight in HBO’s ‘Music Box’ Documentary Series Trailer

HBO is pressing play on “Music Box,” a documentary feature showcase series from Bill Simmons that examines historic and pivotal moments in music.

The movies in the series began airing this past weekend with the debut of “Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage.”

Each of the films are helmed by a different director and will run under the “Music Box” banner through late fall. Simmons, longtime sports writer and pop culture commentator, is executive producer through his role as head of The Ringer content banner, which has an overall deal at HBO.

Mark Rylance Will Reprise Tony- and Olivier-Winning Role in London Revival of Jerusalem in 2022

Tony, Olivier, and Oscar winner Mark Rylance will reprise his acclaimed role as Johnny “Rooster” Byron in a London revival of Jez Butterworth’s Jerusalem next year. The play had previously been eyeing a 2021 return.

Again directed by Ian Rickson, previews will begin at the Apollo Theatre April 16, 2022, with an official opening April 28. Performances are currently scheduled through August 6. Mackenzie Crook will again play Ginger with further casting to be announced.

July 27 (UPI) — HBO gives intimate portraits of Alanis Morissette, the late DMX and more in the new teaser trailer for documentary film series, Music Box.

Music Box is a collection of six documentary films created and executive produced by Bill Simmons that highlights pivotal moments in music history.

Morissette discusses finding her voice with her signature 1995 album Jagged Little Pill and DMX performs onstage in the clip released on Tuesday.
